At first glance many local governments may think health is not a local government responsibility, however, local governments have the ability to promote health in their communities through healthy community design, healthy living programs, health-related policies, and the building of Health centers or Mini Hospital run by the local government i.e Municipality. Memari municipality has set up their Health strategy for providing health services and betterment of their citizens' health-related issues. 

Activities and Rules & Regulations

Health Department is responsible for the implementation of the NUHM scheme along with various Center and State Funded Projects under the jurisdiction of Memari Municipality. Health Department also monitors the functioning of Hospitals & Maternity Hospitals under Mamri Municipality and ensures the supply of medicines and equipment to these hospitals along with salary processing and payment to the Hospital Staff. The functioning of  Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC) is also monitored by Health Department. Various projects funded by the Central and State governments are implemented through UPHCs.

The functionality of the Health Department is for procurement of medicine and medical equipment and implementing projects which are funded by either central or state government.
