Swasthya Sathi Scheme was launched on December 30th, 2016 by Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal. Every family and every citizen can be covered in the scheme. This is a basic health cover for tertiary and secondary healthcare up to Rs 5 lakh per year per family. Swasthya Sathi” was announced in Cabinet No – 2625 dated 17th February 2016, and Finance Department notification no – 1104-F (P) dated 25th February 2016.
Main Features of the Scheme:
1. Basic health cover for secondary and tertiary care up to Rs. 5 lakh per annum per family.
2. Paperless, Cashless, Smart Card based.
3. All pre-existing diseases are covered.
4. There is no cap on the family size and Parents from both spouses are included. All dependent physically challenged persons in the family are also covered.
5. The entire premium is borne by the State Government and no contribution from the beneficiary.
6. Online Swathya Sathi Smart card is provided to each family on the day of Enrolment. Smart Card captures the details of the family members, Photographs, biometrics, addresses, Mobile numbers, and SECC ID.
7. Management of the scheme is in a paperless IT platform from day one.
8. Online empanelment & gradation of Hospitals based on the services and infrastructure available
9. 100% online Pre-authorisation with a turnaround time of 24 Hrs.
10. SMS triggers and instant alerts to the beneficiaries on blocking of card
11. Real-time uploading of E-health records of the beneficiaries on discharge
12. Claim reimbursement to the hospital with TAT of 30 days else interest is being charged for delayed payment.
13. 24X7 toll-free Call Centre (18003455384) with feedback option
14. Online grievance monitoring Mechanism
15. Online triggers and alerts to detect probable frauds with an escalation matrix..
16. Android-based Swasthya Sathi Mobile app for assistance to the beneficiaries
Memari Municipality has also availed this govt. scheme and worked as per govt. guideline. Municipality staff has given the doorstep service to every citizen by distributing Slip for enrollment of the Swasthyasathi Scheme successfully.
